The Estate: Friends in Low Places

Sometimes you have to take a crazy cruise, meaning slum it with a silly movie.
But at least I chose good company. The Estate’s cast included Toni Collette, Anna Faris, David Duchovny & a very humble Kathleen Turner.
The big question is: how in the world did writer/director Dean Craig con all of them to do this bawdy, very transparent screenplay? And when I say transparent, I mean you could see the next step before the obviously imbecile characters.
The premise is a blast and a release, especially if you have awkward relatives or know sycophants who are out for inheritance money.
David Duchovny stole the show & provided the most fun. Everyone else overacted. But when you’re given cheese, the most that can be expected is to shred the heck out it. And indeed they did.
