Fickle critics who panned Golda (written by Nicholas Martin and directed by Guy Nattiv) must be a literal bunch as I really enjoyed the atmospheric slice of life biopic.
Speaking for myself, I’m done with war carnage scenes and feel just as moved by the music and human screams invoked in Golda. So I applaud the writer and director for displaying the horrors in a different light. When Rami Heuberger looks aghast from his plane at the total blowout of his countrymen, I get it! His performance was on par with Helen Mirren as the lead. Dalia Librus should also be lauded as the dutiful stenographer who works through her worst fears with her son being on the front lines; spectacular acting in a suspenseful film!
Well worth seeing on the big screen.
