I understand that Priscilla’s life included a lot of isolation with intermittent bells and whistles. And that’s exactly what Sofia Coppola’s easy on the eye movie portrayed. However, this is the movie industry and I feel the story could have included more spice. I mean, wasn’t their sex life ever exciting? Even one roll in the hay passionate?
And as for the end of their relationship, sure, they had grown apart for obvious reasons-drugs, fame, fanaticism, but at least Baz Luhrman’s Elvis showed more arc and poignancy when the relationship ended.
Again, I love Coppola’s atmospheric style and for a girl like me who loves fashion, hair and make up, this movie was a great dream. Cailee Spaeny did a terrific job with the script she was given. Jacob Elordi is handsome as a hunka hunka burning love, but as written, his character was blase`. My heart needed a little more story and pop to get me to feel anything besides a dull, aching sadness.
